Transportation information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence, and Travel expenses paid by employer
Work setting: Group home
Supervision: More than 20 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, File management software, and MS Outlook
Credentials: Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Certificate, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Behaviour management Certification, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Medication Administration Certificate, and First Aid Certificate
Counselling specialization: Crisis intervention
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Child welfare check, and Driving record check (abstract)

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, perform administrative and office activities, and appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services
  • The candidates should be able to implement life skills workshops, assess clients’ relevant skill strengths and development needs, and conduct follow-up assessments
  • The candidates should be able to provide suicide and crisis intervention, resolve conflict situations, supervise activities of clients living in group homes and halfway houses, and implement behavior management programs
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients, develop service intervention logic models and outcome measures, screen, recruit, and train volunteers and support staff, and assist clients/guests with special needs
  • The candidates should be able to accompany clients to appointments and social outings, hire and train or arrange for training of staff, plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of a department providing a single administrative service or several administrative services, and prepare reports and briefs for management committees evaluating administrative services
  • The candidates should be able to direct and advise staff engaged in providing records management, security, finance, purchasing, human resources, or other administrative services, and hire and provide training for professional and non-professional staff
