Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should undergo TB screening
- The candidates should obtain a Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance
- The candidates should be willing to work shift hours
- The candidates should be aware of potential exposure to animals, latex products, and second-hand smoke from residents
- The candidates should be capable of heavy lifting and bending
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques, typically acquired through work experience, particularly in working with seniors, adults, and/or children, preferably in a long-term care environment
- The candidates should have supervisory experience leading a team
- The candidates should be dedicated to providing the highest standard of resident care, demonstrating excellent clinical and assessment skills, and having a genuine desire to work with residents in long-term care
- The candidates should exhibit strong leadership skills, capable of working with and leading a variety of disciplines in a team atmosphere
- The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
- The candidates should demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
- The candidates should have excellent organizational skills
- The candidates should have a Food Safe certification
- The candidates should possess TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) and WHMIS 2015 (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certifications
- The candidates should have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- The candidates should maintain current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
- The candidates should hold a CPR Level HCP certification completed within the last 18 months
