Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Mandarin
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Children
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test, Medical exam, and Basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smoking individuals, adhering to workplace policies regarding tobacco use, and scent-free, respecting the environment and colleagues with sensitivities or allergies to fragrances
  • The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and performing physically demanding tasks as part of their responsibilities, and be willing to work overtime when required, demonstrating flexibility in their schedule
  • The candidates should be able to manage repetitive tasks efficiently, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines and fulfilling job requirements

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, shop for food and household supplies, travel with the family on trips, and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
  • The candidates should be able to wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens, bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, and instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
  • The candidates should be able to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, organize activities such as games and outings for children, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
  • The candidates should be able to prepare infants and children for rest periods, supervise and care for children, take children to and from school and to appointments, tend to the emotional well-being of children, and help children with homework
