Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Nursing Licensure in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
Experience: Candidates should have experience performing clinical assessments
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should work in challenging, fast paced environment providing a unique experience not seen in traditional nursing roles
- The candidates should undergo and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Security Check, Satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Internal Security Check (must be valid within 6 months)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have ability to make critical decisions, utilize standards of practice, policy and procedure as well as access resources while working alone
- The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada
- The candidates should hold Nursing Licensure in good standing with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) and the College of Licenced Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM)
- The candidates should provide a satisfactory Certificate of Medical Fitness and possess Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Professional Certification
- The candidates should have experience with patient care planning, experience working independently and experience in a similar environment, such as emergency, medical, surgical, or community programs
- The candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and have knowledge of communicable diseases, main signs and symptoms of alcohol or drug misuse
- The candidates should have knowledge of Indigenous culture, exhibit effective verbal communication skills and have the ability to work as part of a team
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to be responsible for providing care and treatment of the physically and mentally ill inmates in a correctional environment
- The candidates should be able to work under the supervision of the Health Services Supervisor and Health Services Manager in the delivery of health care to offenders
- The candidates should be able to perform the work in accordance with prescribed regulations and recognized practices
