Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, Intermediate, a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be in possession of a valid Provincial Security Guard License
- The candidates should have a basic understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, Powers of Arrest, and CCTV and/or surveillance systems. They should also have a working knowledge of Windows-based applications such as Word, Power Point, and Outlook
- The candidates should exhibit a professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- The candidates should have a high degree of initiative and integrity is required for success in a dynamic environment
- The candidates should have a strong collaborative skills and a willingness to support Associate-Owners are essential
- The candidates should have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to deter, detect, and apprehend theft and fraud within retail locations; compile and present evidence for the purpose of court or arbitration
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with other APRs to investigate provincial or national Organized Retail Crime (ORC) cases when they arise
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with the local police service regularly
- The candidates should be able to detect and identify potential shrink opportunities within operational core compliance
- The candidates should be able to build and maintain partnerships with Associate-Owners and their team(s) by communicating and provide training on Asset Protection policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to assist Associate-Owners and their team(s) with incident de-escalation
- The candidates should be able to participate in Community Events
- The candidates should be able to be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, overnights, and weekends (40 hours per week)
