Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in fruit and vegetable combination farming as well as organic farming
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in wet/damp, odorous, dusty, hot, and cold/refrigerated conditions
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- The candidates should be familiar with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding work
- The candidates should have a strong attention to detail and possess hand-eye coordination
- The candidates should have the ability to distinguish between colours
- The candidates should be comfortable sitting, standing for extended periods, and walking
- The candidates should be capable of performing tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be overtime may be required
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean crops, deleaf crops, grade crops, clean greenhouses, hand harvest vegetables, hoe crops, and lower crops
- The candidates should be able to cut seeds, sucker crops, cull vegetables
- The candidates should be able to weed crops, fertilize and spray crops, and harvest crops
- The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- The candidates should be able to examine produce for quality and prepare for the market
- The candidates should be able to set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
