Shifts: Day, Shift, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel, Travel expenses paid by employer
Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Type of experience: Ferry
Credentials: 2nd Class Marine Engineer Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
- The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, dependable, reliable, and judgmental
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate main engines, machinery and auxiliary equipment on ships
- The candidates should be able to supervise and co-ordinate activities of engine room crew
- The candidates should be able to stand engine room watch, monitoring and noting performance of engines, machinery and all auxiliary equipment
- The candidates should be able to inspect and conduct maintenance and emergency repairs to engines, machinery and all auxiliary equipment
