diesel mechanic – Richmond, BC – Job posting

The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on-/off-road and heavy duty equipment to ensure proper function and vehicle safety and meet quality and performance goals.

Diagnose and repair on- / off-road and heavy duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function, and meet vehicle safety and quality goals
Assist with entering data in the mechanic?s maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA))
Communicates concerns or escalates unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager
Responds to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers

Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clear driver?s abstract that meets Purolator?s insurance requirements. No more than four (4) demerit points
3 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic is required.

I.T. A. Red Seal Certification required.

• A Valid I.T.A. Certificate for Truck and Transport Mechanic (Red Seal Journeyman)
• A Valid C.V.S.E. Inspector Certificate of Qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years experience
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision
• Must have good diagnostic skills
• Must have own tools
