Salary: $18.00 to $21.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 20 to 30 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Local, Short-haul, Valid driver’s licence

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Documentation Knowledge: Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trip reports
Equipment and machinery experience: Refrigerated
Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone, Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves
Credentials: Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles)
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a strong attention to detail
  • The candidates should be physically fit for the demands of the role and handling loads of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, possess excellent oral communication, and be known for their reliability
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in their work, be highly organized, and be strong team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns, demonstrate professionalism in customer service, and receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • The candidates should be able to drive lighter, special-purpose trucks, load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, and pay and receive payments for goods
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle, as well as record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
