Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing and able to work 12-hour day, evening, night, and weekend rotations at the Queen Street Site
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- The candidates should demonstrate competency in monitoring, assessment, and documentation for mental health and substance-related disorders
- The candidates should demonstrate competency in monitoring, assessment, and documentation for trauma-responsive behaviors
- The candidates should demonstrate competency in mental status and physical health assessments
- The candidates should demonstrate competency in assessing client response to pharmaceutical interventions and demonstrate motivation to develop group facilitation skills
- The candidates should demonstrate motivation to develop knowledge and skills in trauma-informed care, culturally competent care, crisis intervention, mental health, and addiction diagnoses, and treatment modalities
- The candidates should be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and BSCN and CNA certification in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing (preference will be given)
- The candidates should have psychiatric nursing experience with individuals with mental illness and addictions
- The candidates should possess effective leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills and computer literate
- The candidates should be bilingual (French and English) or possess proficiency in a second language
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to participate in unit orientation facilitated by unit leadership team, the Advance Practice Clinical Leader, and Manager
- The candidates should be able to develop and refine knowledge and skills necessary for working safely and effectively on an acute general psychiatric unit
- The candidates should be able to practice safely and adhere to the Practice Standards outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and Canadian Standards of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (CFMHN)
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to learning and professional growth within CCC-3
